Spring Equinox is often seen as a natural point of renewal. As the seasons change, many people begin looking for gentle ways to support their wellbeing after winter. Practices such as spending more time outdoors, improving sleep habits and holistic treatments can help the body adjust and restore balance as spring arrives.
Around the time of the Spring Equinox, something begins to shift. The days and nights balance, light slowly gains ground over darkness, and nature starts to wake up after the long quiet of winter.
If you’ve been noticing a small lift in energy lately, or the urge to open the windows and let some fresh air in, you’re not imagining it. Our bodies are part of the same natural rhythm as the seasons.
But just like the plants in the garden, we don’t all wake up at the same pace.
Some of us feel ready to burst into action. Others are still stretching and blinking in the early light.
Both are completely normal.
Emerging From Winter
Winter asks us to slow down, rest more, and turn inward. Even if our modern lives don’t always allow us to fully honour that rhythm, our bodies still respond to the darker days.
By the time spring arrives, you might notice things like:
feeling a little sluggish or heavy
stiff joints or tired muscles
low energy that hasn’t quite lifted yet
disrupted sleep patterns
feeling mentally foggy or unmotivated
Rather than pushing yourself to suddenly “bounce back”, the equinox is a lovely moment to pause and ask a simple question:
How am I actually feeling right now?
Taking Stock of Your Body

Think of this time of year as a gentle check-in with yourself.
You might ask:
Do I feel rested after the winter months?
Am I waking up with energy or still feeling depleted?
Are there areas of tension or discomfort that have crept in?
Do I feel balanced emotionally?
Sometimes the body is simply slowly emerging from its winter rest, and all it needs is time, fresh air and a bit more movement.
Other times, it might be asking for a little extra support.
What Support Might Look Like
Support doesn’t have to mean dramatic changes. Often the most helpful shifts are small, consistent ones.
That might look like:
getting outside for short walks in the daylight
stretching or moving the body more regularly
prioritising good sleep again
eating lighter, fresher foods as the seasons change
taking time to rest when your body asks for it
Holistic therapies can also help the body transition between seasons. Reflexology, for example, works with the body’s natural systems to encourage relaxation, support circulation and gently bring things back into balance.
Many people find a treatment at this time of year helps them shake off the heaviness of winter and move into spring feeling lighter and more energised.

A Season of Gentle Renewal
The key word here is gentle.
Nature doesn’t rush the process. Buds appear slowly. The soil warms gradually. The longer days arrive one minute at a time.
We can give ourselves the same patience.
If your body is ready to leap into spring, enjoy the energy.
If it’s still waking up, that’s perfectly alright too.
The Spring Equinox is simply an invitation — a moment to notice where you are, and support yourself in whatever way feels right.
A Little Extra Support
If you feel like your body could use a little help making the transition into spring, reflexology can be a lovely place to start.
A treatment offers the chance to slow down, reset and support the body’s natural balance as the seasons change. Many clients find it helps them feel calmer, lighter and more in tune with their energy again.
If this sounds like something your body might appreciate, you’re very welcome to get in touch or book a session. Sometimes a small pause is all we need to move forward feeling more like ourselves again.
