Frequently Asked Questions
If you're considering joining one of our Gentle Outdoor Wellness Walks and would like a little more clarity before booking, you'll find answers to common questions below. These sessions are designed to feel calm, accessible and supportive, so you need to feel at ease from the beginning. If there's anything that's not covered here, you're always welcome to get in touch.

What should I bring?
Just yourself, comfortable, sturdy shoes suitable for a gentle outdoor walk, weather appropriate layers and a drink and maybe a snack. If you would like, bring a small foldable seat or walking stick - whatever helps you feel supported.
How long are the walks?
Our outdoor wellness walks in Tavistock usually last around 45-60 minutes, depending on the group's pace. We stop often, and you can rest whenever you need.
Do I need to be fit or active?
Not at all. These gentle wellness walks are designed for low-stamina, chronic illness, post burn-out recovery and anyone who prefers a slow, supported pace. There's absolutely no fitness requirement.
Is this suitable for mobility issues or chronic illness?
Yes. That's exactly who these accessible outdoor walks are for. The Accessible Path Walk follows a fully paved, steady route. The Moorland Ease Walk remains gentle but includes some softer, uneven ground. Details of the walks are always shared beforehand so you can choose what feels right for you.
What if I can't keep up?
You don’t need to. We move slowly and take breaks. You’re welcome to pause, sit or opt out of any part of the walk. Your comfort comes first.
Can I come alone?
Absolutely — lots of people do. These walks are calm, friendly and pressure-free. You won’t be left on your own unless you want some quiet time.
Do I need to book in advance?
Yes, advanced booking is required for all of our Gentle Outdoor Wellness Walks in West Devon so I can share the meeting point, accessibility notes and group details.
What happens if it rains?
If it’s light rain or drizzle, we’ll go ahead — it can be surprisingly soothing. If the weather is unsafe or miserable, I’ll let you know and we’ll reschedule.
Do I need to talk during the walk?
Nope. Some people chat a bit, others prefer quiet. Both are welcome. There’s no expectation either way
Is there a meditation or mindfulness element?
Yes — but it’s very light and optional. Think simple breathing techniques or a few minutes of guided noticing rather than anything intense.
Can I cancel if I’m having a flare-up or a bad day?
Of course. Life happens, bodies have opinions. Just give me a quick message if you can.
